The Quality of Illinois' Workforce is at Risk!
In
Illinois, of all secondary students enrolled in public schools, 60%
or over 348,000 students are enrolled in high school CTE courses*. These
focused, motivated students are tomorrow's well-trained workforce -
a workforce Illinois employers rely on to remain competitive and productive.
Career
and Technical Education (CTE), a proven resource for talent, energy
and skill is in jeopardy. Declining federal and state funding threatens
to cripple CTE in Illinois. Our state could lose it's federal funding
if the legislature does not vote for enough state funding to meet the
federal matching funds requirement each year.
Secondary
Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Illinois are in danger
of losing much-needed funding to implement programs that prepare our
future workers.
